Hair Dryers 101 - How to Make Them Last Longer

Long before most of the hair equipment we know of today have been invented, there were already hair dryers that helped stylists whip up exciting hair styling masterpieces. Nowadays, it is typical for some people to have their own hairdryers to help them style their own hair on a daily basis.

Knowing how to use a hair dryer is important but learning how to take care of it is essential too. Without the proper knowledge on how to maintain and care for this hair styling tool, you cannot expect that your hair dryer will last a long time with you, even if you have purchased a very durable brand like t3 hair dryers for instance.

Here are some excellent tips on how to extend the life of your blow dryer:

1. Clean your hair dryer regularly. Whenever you use your hair dryer, you should not forget to clean it afterwards. Begin your cleaning by unplugging the tool and allowing it to cool down.

For the surface of the hair dryer, you can use a clean rug to wipe it. As for the air vent, you can make use of a toothbrush or a cotton bud and a small amount of alcohol to loosen up and remove dirt build up.

Rinse with water to run off remaining dust and dirt. If there are attachments to the dryer, remove them and clean them too. Allow everything to dry before reassembling.

2. Check for accumulation of lint, hair and debris. Doing this is not only for the maintenance of your dryer, but more importantly for your safety. Remember, when too much debris builds up on your blow dryer, this tool can become a potential fire hazard.

Checking for debris build up should be done at least once a month or more often if you use your dryer frequently. The more often you use your dryer, the faster lint, hair and debris will accumulate, and the more often you should do your routine checking.

Remove debris with the use of a pair of tweezers, a cotton bud or your fingertips. Do not forget to unplug and turn off the tool before doing so to avoid injury.

You can remove the debris from your blow dryer using your fingertips or a small tool like tweezers. Make sure the blow dryer is off when you are cleaning it.

3. Inspect the parts of the blow dryer. If there is anything broken or cracked, be sure to have this replaced or repaired by a professional immediately. Using a broken or defective blow dryer can lead to an injury. Again, be sure to unplug and turn off the devise before inspection.

4. Know what to do in case of operation failure. If the hair dryer fails to work after you have plugged it in, check the power cord first by removing the screws to open the dryer housing. Use a continuity tester to check if the power is defective or not. If it is, replace it with a new cord.

When you buy high quality hair dryers like t3 hair dryers, you expect them to last long. However, you need to care for your dryers the proper way to maintain their excellent working condition.
